I joined Huggins as a trainee and qualified into the commercial property team in 2010. I previously worked for a large consultancy firm offering legal advice to companies on business and property law and prior to that completed a Masters in Laws at University College London.
What are your clients like?
My work spans a full range of commercial property transactional matters, including site acquisitions for developers, medium to large value refinancing and lending, commercial landlord and tenant matters (including lettings) and residential leasehold extensions.
I have acted on hundreds of transactions since joining Huggins. In the past year, I have acted on the following:-
- Acquisition of a £11.5m site in Silvertown, London for development into circa 200 residential flats
- Flat sales at The Bagel Factory, Hackney, a prominent development comprising over 160 flats including preparation of a multi-party deed for shared services across 5 significant sites
- Acting for a borrower in relation to a loan facility in excess of £30m from Lloyds Banking Group secured against a large and varied portfolio of properties
- Acting for a lender in relation to £5m secured loan facility with equity stake in relation to a residential development located in Chelmsford, Essex
I also act for a range of smaller, local business in relation to landlord and tenant matters, including a number of start-up ventures around the ÂHere EastÂ development in Stratford and The Wildcard Brewery in relation to their new brewery in Walthamstow, London (payment for which I am still trying to secure in crates of beer!).
How do you make a difference for your clients?
A key part of my role is meeting the demands of developers in a highly pressurised property market where the speed of turning around transactions is increasingly key.
As a result, I hope clients will agree that I tend to think and act fast, spotting potential issues early and finding pragmatic and commercial solutions to them to get a transaction over the line.
