Huggins Lewis Foskett
Office-based role
Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 (depending on experience)

Huggins Lewis Foskett is seeking an experienced Paralegal to join its Commercial and Residential Property teams. The role offers high-quality, hands-on work with a strong focus on commercial property transactions and residential new build plot sales, primarily acting for developers.

This position is ideal for a paralegal with previous property law experience who is looking to develop their skills with a clear pathway towards becoming an independent fee earner.

THE ROLE

You will work closely with supervising fee earners on a wide range of matters, including:

• Drafting and preparing commercial property documents such as leases, licences to assign, deposit deeds and licences to alter
• Drafting standard commercial and residential property contracts
• Assisting with option agreements, conditional purchase agreements, deeds of grant and other ancillary commercial property documents
• Supporting residential new build plot sales, including preparing draft contracts and leases, issuing legal packs and liaising with estate agents
• Acting as the first point of review for pre-contract enquiries before escalation to supervising fee earners
• Assisting with auction purchases and sales
• Supporting large portfolio refinancing transactions, with scope to manage your own refinancing files as experience develops
• Preparing corporate documents in connection with commercial refinancing, including board minutes, resolutions and director certificates

You will also manage your own caseload of suitable matters as part of your development, with supervision and mentoring provided.

ABOUT YOU

You will have:

• Previous experience in commercial and/or residential property law
• A strong academic background and good legal research skills
• Familiarity with Practical Law Company (PLC) precedents
• Strong IT skills and confidence using case management systems
• The ability to open, manage and maintain files independently

You will be comfortable working with minimal secretarial support and taking responsibility for your own administrative tasks.

WORKING ARRANGEMENTS

The role is office-based. Due to the need for supervision and in-person training, attendance in the office is required, particularly in the early stages. Remote or hybrid working may be considered in the future, subject to experience and performance.

WHY JOIN HUGGINS LEWIS FOSKETT

This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy and growing property team, gain exposure to high-quality work, and develop towards a fee-earning role within a supportive environment.
