Saika Alam - a Professional, tactful approach.
Saika and Christine were brilliant - thank you both for your help at what was a very difficult time.
Id like to sincerely thank you for all your help with my legal needs over the last 12 months. Having had a terrible experience with a previous lawyer it has been completely the opposite experience with Huggins Lewis Foskett. Saika and her teams swiftness, personal approach and thoughtful assistance has been very much appreciated and resulted in a much needed conclusion. Thank you.S. Tottingham.
I am actually in tears as I type this! HLF took my case up when it was hopeless in finding help to pay for a divorce which I knew would be lengthy and very messy which took over three and a half years and over a dozen Hearings. I eventually received my Decree Absolute a week ago (hip hip hurrah). Due to my bad credit history, I had been turned down by many Firms and some never even bothered to call me back. However, my first call to HLF Solicitors had me leave a message explaining my situation and seeking for help for someone to take up my case . Surprisingly, I had a call back within 4 hours from now my very lovely Solicitor Saika Alam. Cutting to the chase as I could write a novel from experience. Once again, I have to thank Saika Alam from the depth of my heart for everything You, Julia Woodward ,Tom Tyler (3PB Barristers) and your Firm have done for me regarding my very challenging Divorce and other issues. I must say, i have never come across or heard of any Solicitor or Firm who have been so professional and at the same time highly compassionate in such case as mine. I will highly be recommending you Saika and your Firm. You have become a friend to me! With sincere gratitude F.Bahsali.
I am a client of Saika Alam. Saika is very knowledgeable, meticulous, honest and caring. She goes above and beyond to understand your case and guide accordingly. It is this great care and attention from Saika that has made me continue to turn to Huggins Law for advice since my case started 4 years ago. I honestly could not recommend her enough! From the first time I contacted the Huggins firm, I knew that this was not a firm simply out to gain from the misfortune of going through the Family Court system, but it is a firm that strives to help as much as they possibly can, because they do take a genuine interest in you as an individual. You are defiantly not just another case to them. I have always been a great believer in that it is the staff that makes or breaks a firm, and in the case of Huggins, the team is amazing and Saika in particular is a real asset to this firm. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for everything. A client for life. R.Redfern.
What do you do?
I head our Family law department and I am a member of both Resolution and the Law Society Advanced Family Law Panel. I have also trained as a Collaborative Family Lawyer. I qualified as a solicitor back in 1993 after graduating from the University of Wales and became a Partner here at Huggins in 2003.
Representing thousands of clients in a range of areas including divorce and separation, financial matters, cohabitee property disputes, prenuptial and cohabitation agreements, child arrangement orders and domestic abuse, I specialise in sorting out the thorny financial side of relationship breakdowns and I deal with the “high end” family law work in the firm.
Notable highlights in my work include: -
- Successfully appealing against an order for child maintenance top-ups made against a footballer under Schedule 1 of the Children Act 1989 at the High Court (Re TW and TM (Minors) );
- Successfully appealing a fact-finding decision arising out of residence and contact proceedings in which Mostyn J rendered previous findings of fact unsafe and provided judicial guidance upon circumstances when appeals should be considered (AA v NA and KAB EWHC 1282)
Tell us about your clients
My clients come from a wide range of different backgrounds and different income brackets and no two cases are the same. Many have suffered a great deal of emotional stress by the time they realise they need a lawyer. I offer clear, straightforward and pragmatic advice to help them move forward with their lives in a way that works for them.
Why do your clients like working with you?
I try to solve problems in a pragmatic and cost-effective way. Getting to know my clients and what makes them tick is really important to me as it means that I can concentrate on their particular needs at a time when they may not be able do that for themselves. I also recognise that life must move on and so my clients value my ability to manage expectations, keep the momentum going and to focus on the end result.
