Mariam Cassamoali

Family Solicitor

What do you do?

I am a family law solicitor. I qualified in May 2019 and have a lengthy history of working in family law 3 years prior to my qualification also. I provide advice and assistance in a vast range of services including but not limited to, divorce, protective injunctions, finances, and children act proceedings. I aim to resolve matters in a quick and efficient manner. I am able to advise and assist in regard to contested and uncontested divorce; financial matters, whether this be by way of court application or negotiation without the involvement of court; and private children act matters including but not limited to contact issues, residence orders, prohibited steps orders and specific issue orders. Due to the personal nature of family law clients, I have found that the best approach is to minimise conflict as family matters can be daunting for both parties. In cases where litigation is unavoidable, I take care to ensure that my clients are aware of what the Court process entails and are updated as to what they can expect at each stage of the court proceedings. I am a member of Resolution.

Why do your clients like working with you?

I have a flexible approach with clients; certain matters require a softer approach, whereas others a sterner practice. I am fluent English and Gujarati and can get by with conversational Urdu and Hindi.

Why do you love your job?

Family law is often emotionally driven, understandably as it deals with the personal aspect of peoples lives. I enjoy the challenging nature of family law and find that it can be both professionally and emotionally rewarding.
