Simon Huggins

Partner - Private Client

What do you do?

I head our wills, estate administration and vulnerable client department.  Qualified in 1992, I became at Partner in 1996 and I am a member of the Law Society Wills and Inheritance Quality Scheme (WIQS).

My work includes drafting Wills, Trusts, Powers of Attorney, and estate administration and inheritance tax planning. I also advise on contentious probate matters including disputed Wills, fatal accident claims, and claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependents) Act 1975.

Why do your clients like working with you?

The nature of my work means that I have to be approachable and understand my clients’ needs. Having acted for thousands of clients to date, it is clear that putting my clients at ease helps them as well as me. To this end, I avoid legal jargon wherever possible and I only wear a suit when I absolutely have to!

How do you relax when you are not in the office?

Away from work I am a west Ham fan (for my sins!), I play golf badly and my real passion is adventure fishing in far flung places.

  • Huggins & Lewis Foskett have been our family solicitors for some years having been appointed by and served our late Father before us. Acting as executors to his estate they made a difficult personal time and multitude of complex tasks all the more bearable with their respectful, measured, plain speaking, common sense and professional approach. The estate matters were dealt with by Simon & Lorraine; with Anne handling the conveyancing side of things and we cannot praise them all highly enough.
